Only a matter of time before Barcelona score at Arsenal. What a first half !
Downloading Notational Velocity latest upgrade. Merlin Mann recommended the app. It is a good one I like it
updated iTunes to 9.1 so it is iPad ready even though I will not be getting one in the very near future - seeing as it is U.S. only just now

I had a play with a 27in iMac Yesterday & love the extra space over the 24in model. I want one but will maybe just get a bigger side monitor
Watched the Textexpander video from Don & learned a couple of tricks. Now to set up a few more snippets, I have not been using it enough
I upgraded to OSX 10.6.3 on the MacBook - the iMac will be next. No probs for me with the combo updater - How did you get on?

Engadget has received reports the next generation iPhone will be called the iPhone HD . Could be 2 different iPhones let loose this year
Going to take the chainsaw back to the shop because it is such a pig to start. The spark is too small & compression is weak..

Monday, March 29, 2010

I just put part of book 'Barcelona Chapters' written by my friend Tony Tysoe onto my iPhone so I can read it while on the go. Used Stanza
I am going to check out Stanza to see how easy it is to create and eBook in the ePub format. Anyone tried this out already ?
The iPad - What will you use yours for? I hear they will make a good tray for your tea too......Not bad eh??
Looks like Apple are struggling to keep up with the demand for the iPad. A bit of the hot cake syndrome
The only thing with getting the Combo updater for 10.6.3 OSX is that it is nearly twice the size of the download with Software update ???
Thinking I should get the 10.6.3 combo updater so that I only have to download once for all my Macs. Well both of the Intel Macs anyway
Game developers will be going crazy getting out the iPad apps - less than a week before the lucky gits can get one in their hands to play !!
The iPad app flow starts - Amazon says it will bring its E reader software to the new device..

Chainsaw is a pig to get started. After a while pulling at the starter I am too knackered to use the bloody thing
I think I will be ringing up the Support at Datarobotics & to complain a bit about the false info from the Drobo....
The drive that the Drobo told me was dead yesterday I put in for the 500GB drive it said was dead also. Suprise!! It works WTF ??!!
Cut down a dead tree in the front garden. If it don't move get it with the chainsaw is the motto for the day

This time it is a 500GB drive that is supposed to be up the shoot. Grrrr ?
Can you believe it but the Drobo is telling me that another drive has gone bad. Telling me to replace it. 2 in one day ???
just put in the new hard drive in the Drobo. Ejected, turned off & on for it to see it. Now it is rebuilding the data with the 4th drive
TED Prize winner Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution comes to America. His show premieres on ABC tonight. The show is *awesome*.
Another 25 minutes before I can put in the new disk in the Drobo. It is still rearranging data after the drive failure...
Samsung hard drives have a 2 yr guarantee so maybe I can get it replaced...
If it had been one of the 500GB drives that failed it would have been less bad. I would have had bigger capacity afterwards
The Drobo is in the process of re distributing data & will not see the new drive until it is finished it seems. Another 3 hours to wait...
Oh bollocks! A hard drive failed in the Drobo. Data at least is all safe but had to buy a new 1TB drive.

I don't need to visit a web site to see if there is new content there because any time there is something new it appears in my Netvibes page in Firefox.

Wizardgold VideoCast

Wizardgold first video cast.I show you how easy it is to use STW to make trades on BetFair. I cover straight betting, dutching and scalping.Discover how to set up a scalping of the match odds market that has great odds of making you money and is really easy to do.

Wizardgold using IRIS with STW betting software

Using IRIS with STW betting software to lay a horse to lose on Betfair.See how easy it is to lay a horse to lose when you can see the actual positions of the horses in the race because they are being tracked by transponders in the saddle cloth. The sound quality isnÂt great on the movie but if you turn up your speakers you will get the idea of how it works. Also it wasn't scripted so forgive me if it is a bit raw.I would have liked to included extra to the actual capture of me using the software but when I put it into iMove to edit and add to the quality of the picture went right down.Looking into ways to get around that. But getting back to the IRIS I think you will be impressed with how easy it is and see how you could use it yourself to trade on horse racing in running.

Making money on a horse race

Making money at the races Wizardcast19 is a short video which shows me using IRIS and STW software to make money on a horse race. I like to lay a horse to lose in a race and in races that are not too tight to call it is a pretty simple process to do this with IRIS. I also look at the DailyDonkey site to see which horse they think is likely to lose. They donÃïït always get it right but it is another piece of information to help with the selection process. I usually go for the horse that is with odds around the 10-12 mark because they are not in anyway favourites and the odds are not so high that I would have a huge liability on a trade just in case such a donkey would win the race.

Jade Goody a racist ?

Just a small comment on the big storm in a tea cup following the supposedly racist comments by Jade Goody in the television programme Big Brother. She has said soome funny things that demonstrate a level of ignorance about world affairs that amaze. But she has pulled in 2.4 million pounds by being famous for being on the television show. SO she is not as thick as some people make out. She has even got a couple of fan sites online. Amazing

Wizardgold's Podcast : FFSdemo640.mov

This is to show you how easy it is to set up a demo with Forex FOr Smarties and test the trading method with a 50,000 demo account with InterbankFX.I highly recommend that you check it out so that you can see how your money can be invested and be earning you a whole lot more than you would get from a bank. This video was commissioned by Forex by Smarties but I was delighted to be able to get paid for making it at the same time as being able to show all my subscribers something which I heartily endorse. The onlyt change I would make would be to use an amount close to what I would be able to trade with live, such as 3000 dollars and also to use a mini account rather than a standard one.

Betting on the under 2.5 goals market in Betfair

In this video I show you how to set up some trading onthe under 2.5 goals market in Betfair to make some fairly easy money. If you had BetIE you would be able to try out the system I am demonstrating so that you could see for yourself how it works without risking any money on the trading. You can get Betty the betting Bot at http://wizardgold.com/wordpress/betty/In this example of trading with Betty I have the profi t of 37 euro sewn up on the game and it has only being played for about 15 mins. Anything can happen with the game now and I will still make money. The second part of the video is a bit blurry but you will be able to see well enough to understand how to do it. I will do the next video at a differnet video resolution that should work better.Any Questions - contact me at wizardgold AT gmail.com

Wizardcast 39 - News - matched bet and hedging the unders

News from Wizardgold Getting 100 Euro bonus from a bookmaker and how to pull in 45 Euro of the 100 risk free.I chat about the BetAngel Betdaq version and a little about what it can do.I show you how to use the hedging function in BetIE.More information at Wizardgold Betting Trader.

Wizardgold Wizardcast 41 - Laying the Premiership loser

In this videocast I explore the games on Sunday the 28th of December on how they would work out with the strategy of laying the loser, after the first goal has been just scored. The idea is to lay the team that has just let the goal in and is therefore at that time the loser in the game. The second part of the strategy is to put in a back bet on the 1-2 or 2-1 scoreline, which way depends on whether the home or away team scored first.Seems like a good strategy but you do need to be aware that some games it will not work, like games that have only late goals. The the other thing is the possibilities when the underdog team scores first and it was a lucky goal. You might decide that the loser at that time is still likely to win and perhaps by more than the 1-2 scoreline. Those sort of decisions based on knowledge of the game and the teams is what will give you the edge to have any strategy work long term.Good idea too to have a staking plan so that when you have a bad day and the scores go against the plan you are not wiped out.Don't forget to keep a tally of how something like goes and if you can then paper trade to start with and see if it will work for you.

Wizardgold Wizardcast 40 - news from the Wizard

Today I wanted to try out a new piece of software but ran into problems. Not only that but the repeated crashing of the buggy software cost me my money as I wasn't able to trade out as I was expecting to do. I only put in the first part of trade for testing purposes. Each time I tried to trade out the Java based program just died.Only 3 euro but still money. So I was recording the video as I was doing it and thought you might like to see me messing up so easily.I will have to buy a licence to use Parallels so that I can again use the Windows programs that are BetAngel for Betdaq and BetIE for Betfair. At least you can rely on those programs. Not like the piece of junk I had the misfortune to use today.I can get at Betdaq using Safari browser but I wanted to try the greening up with this other software. Next time I will have the browser open and ready just in case.

wizardgold's Wizardcast 37

In this video podcast I show how easy it is to dutch a horse race using BetIE. Choosing the horses and some information about what sort of level there should be in the ratio of risk and reward.I will be looking at showing how to do some hedging on a horse race or in a football game.I still like to work with the under 2.5 goals market in the Betting exchanges, Betfair and Betdaq. It is all pretty easy stuff.I will see about doing the next video at a higher resolution. This was my first using ScreenFlow to make the capture and to do some of the editing. I struggled to get the size of the finished file down. All down to getting the settings right when exporting the movie out. I have the best results exporting from GarageBand after I made some changes to the audio.

wizardgold's Wizardcast 38

Dutching the correct score in a football game between West Ham United and Tottenham.Video showing how to set it up so that you have a good ration of risk to reward.

Wizardcast 42 Trading the under 2.5 goals

I have been trying out the Betdaq Assistant software from Gruss and I am very pleased with it. It has been created using Adobe Air which makes it cross platform. Seeing as I am a Mac user this is the icing on the cake with a cherry on top for me. You can also use it on Linux and even Windows if you are crazy enough to use Windows. In this podcast I was trading on the Southend vs Chelsea FA Cup football game. The first goal went in at 16 minutes, a home goal scored by Southend and that was a bit of a shocker. But Southend were not to be a giant killer and Chelsea eventually won the game 1 - 4. I saw some of the game on the TV and it was a good game to watch. The FA Cup really does bring out the best from the lower teams and forces the Giants to up their game too.I will be bringing out another Wizardcast soon in which I will demonstrate more of the functionality of the Betdaq Assistant.
